The 2013 Excellence in Leadership award was given to Jamie Reichert, a research program manager and the manager of the Swine Research and Teaching Center at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station in the Department of Animal Sciences.
Jamie’s innovation has helped solve a variety of problems where he works. For example, he helped create a one-of-a-kind biomedical swine transport trailer that was needed to meet the requirements for transporting biomedical pigs. He also developed effective pig jackets that have helped secure in-dwelling catheters in pigs.
In addition to his talents in equipment and facility design and swine husbandry, Jamie is also an excellent teacher. He leads lab sessions, reaches out to high schools to present on animal agriculture and research, and hosts UW-Platteville and Western Technical College students for tours and discussions.
Jamie’s problem solving and motivational skills, leadership and dedication are greatly appreciated among his colleagues. This entry was posted in Uncategorized by ksmartin2. Bookmark the permalink.
