The Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems will co-host a benefit concert on April 13 to support UW graduate student research in sustainable agriculture and food systems.
The Earth Day-themed concert, set for 8pm in Music Hall (925 Bascom Mall), will feature Graminy, a “class-grass” ensemble from Madison that brings together classical and grassroots musical traditions, and the Handphibians, a vibrant group of Madison-based musicians dedicated to playing and promoting Brazilian-style percussion. Stephanie Elkins, host of Wisconsin Public Radio’s Simply Folk, will serve as master of ceremonies.
Tickets are available from Brown Paper Tickets, at the CIAS office (262-8018), and from Agroecology and Nelson Institute students. For the general public, they cost $9 in advance or $12 at the door. For students, they are $7 in advance or $10 at the door.
