The 123-year-old CALS is a baby compared to the Farm and Industry Short Course. More than 150 FISC alumni and friends celebrated the program’s 128th anniversary at the annual reunion on Saturday, January 26. The program was emceed by Bill Bruins, until recently president of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau, and also featured Dean Kate VandenBosch, associate dean Sarah Pfatteicher, WALSAA president Sam Miller, Wisconsin DATCP deputy secretary Jeff Lyons and FISC alumni board president Andrea Brossard.
Guests were entertained by Bucky Badger as they reconnected with old friends and made new connections. Long-time FISC employee, Mary Vance who retired this year, was honored for her years of service to the program.
Alumni from as early as 1937 and as recent as 2012 mingled with current students, won door prizes donated by generous friends of the Short Course, and participated in the auction of a Byron Jorns print. Thanks to everyone who attended and helped to make it a special day.
