I’m six months into my appointment as Dean of CALS and somewhere over the summer I began to feel at home. Travels around the state have fostered this sense of belonging, of beginning to be a badger. Field days and other events at our Agricultural Research Stations introduced many sides of Wisconsin agriculture in action, while The Wisconsin Idea Seminar in May took me to new places with many CALS linkages.
I’ve decided to make a Wisconsin ‘Must Do List’ to continue on this track. My priorities are to see the natural history and resources of the state, taste Wisconsin foods, and see where they are produced. I’ll chronicle my progress here. What suggestions do you have? I am especially interested in ideas with a CALS tie-in. I hope you will also share your suggestions with me!
