Graduate students and postdocs in the life sciences at UW-Madison: We are accepting applications for the 2012 HHMI Teaching Fellows Program. Follow the link below to apply. Application deadline: Dec 21, 2011. Program begins Jan 23, 2012.
The HHMI Teaching Fellows Program is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative and effective ways to teach biology. Each fellow partners with a biology course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to develop instructional materials that engage students in active learning, address issues of diversity, and assess learning outcomes. Fellows also become part of a community of scientific teachers and apply their teaching skills in an actual classroom setting.
- Spring semester: Participants meet in weekly sessions to learn about scientific teaching and develop instructional materials for a biology course at UW-Madison.
- Fall semester: Participants teach the instructional materials in the biology course, evaluate student learning, and disseminate the materials.
