UW fair demos included CALS staff from across the state

Some people put in a lot of windshield time to help CALS put on a great show at this year’s UW-Madison Day at the State Fair. Among those staffing our “Farmers Market” tent (sponsored by the Agricultural Research Stations and CALS) were Dick Weideman (Sturgeon Bay station), Yves Berger (Spooner) and Bryan Bowen (Rhinelander), as well as Dwight Mueller and Phil Dunigan (ARS HQ at Arlington), Erin Silva (Agronomy), AJ Bussan, Rebecca Harbut and Bryan Jensen (Horticulture) and Sevie Kenyon (CALS External Relations.  They were on hand to visit with people about everything from vegetables to dairy sheep.

Bucky wasn't the only UW badger at the fair. The one David Drake brought didn't wear a red-and-white sweater, do push-ups or polka, but a lot of visitors found it pretty fascinating.

Other people from CALS hosted Exploration Stations at the UW event, David Drake (Forest and Wildlife Ecology), Phil Pellitteri and Chris Williamson (Entomology) and Brian Hudelson (Plant Pathology). Staff from Steenbock Library had an archival display including photos from the early days of the fair.
