Todd Taylor, Manager of the Arlington Sheep Unit, was very successful exhibiting departmental sheep during the first rotation of the Wisconsin State Fair Sheep Show on August 3 and 4 in West Allis, WI. Targhee, Rambouillet, and Wether-type breeding sheep were exhibited from the flock at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station. Several First Place, Reserve Champion, and Champion awards were captured in all three breeds. The highlight was when the university’s Champion Wether-type yearling ewe was named Supreme Reserve Champion Ewe over all eight breeds exhibited during the first rotation. UW-Madison was also named Premier Exhibitor in all three breeds, which is awarded to the exhibitor with the best average placing of all his/her animals. This entry was posted in Awards and honors by .
