For those who teach an undergraduate course offered through a CALS department or in the Inter-Ag curriculum…
The Office of Undergraduate Programs & Services will issue a call for proposals during the fall of 2011 for teaching assistant (TA) funding to be available during the 2012-13 academic year. This early call is intended to allow departments the ability to plan ahead and to meet Schedule of Classes and recruiting deadlines. In preparation for this call, you are invited to attend a town hall meeting on July 18, 10-11:30 AM in 6201 Microbial Sciences. The objectives of this meeting are to:
- share information about the Madison Initiative for Undergraduates awards thus far (goals, expectations, and accomplishments) and plans going forward (including the new call for proposals);
- identify the learning outcomes, teaching practices, and assessments that are currently used in CALS courses;
- identify ways the MIU-funded TAs can help advance teaching and learning in CALS courses;
- collect recommendations for the Request for Proposals for 2012-13 TAs.
There is no need to RSVP, but do feel free to let me know if you have questions about this event.
