NIH sets salary limits for FY 2011

On May 4, 2011, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provided Notice of the Legislative Mandate in Effect for FY2011.  This annual notice provides information on statutory limits on the use of NIH funds.  The Department of Defense and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2011 (PL 112-10) continues all legislative mandates in effect for FY 2010.  The notice appears in the current week’s NIH Guide (NOT-OD-11-072).

One of the statutory mandates in the Salary Limitation on Grants, Cooperative Agreements and Contracts (NOT-OD-11-073).  The amount of direct salary that an individual may receive with NIH funds is restricted to Executive Level I of the Federal Executive Pay scale.  There has been no increases in Federal salaries.  The Executive Level I remains at $199,700 which is the salary limitation for the remainder of FY2011.
