William R. Freudenburg, a former professor in the Department of Rural Sociology (now Community and Environmental Sociology) died on Dec. 28 at the age of 59 in Santa Barbara, CA. He was on the UW-Madison faculty from 1986 until 2002, when he left to become the Dehlsen Professor of Environmental Studies and Sociology at the University of California-Santa Barbara.
