Maria McGinnis is a finalist for the Ag Woman of the Year award

Maria McGinnis, our CALS student career services coordinator, is a finalist for the Ag Connect “Ag Woman of the Year Award.”

If you’d like to support her candidacy, you can vote online at this website. Voting closes on Dec. 9.

According to the trade show web site, “The AG CONNECT Expo 2011 Ag Woman of the Year Award recognizes the achievements of women in farming operations, in their communities or in the agriculture industry as a whole. This award celebrates the role of women in agriculture and their contributions in operations, education, land stewardship, and business.”

McGinnis was anonymously nominated to the regional competition and was notified of her finalist status in late November. She was awarded a Flip video camera and instructed to produce a three minute video to explain how she views her role in the agricultural world.
