The GHI Incubator is a dynamic workshop for students and faculty that will span a full semester, culminating in an RFP competition for seed funding of research projects. The full text of the RFP, including key dates and deadlines, is now available and you can find it here: UW Global Health Initiative RFP.
The Incubator sessions will feature some of our campus’ leading researchers sharing their knowledge, framed around the eight UN Millennium Development Goals. Each session will focus on one of the goals with two speakers: one from a systems/policy point of view and one from a bottom-up/place-based perspective. Each will use a format inspired by TED Talks, providing concise (under 18 minute) talks, followed by audience engagement.
Students/faculty who intend to submit a proposal for GHI seed funding for innovative global health research are expected to attend the Incubator series. In the RFP review process, a strong preference will be given to those who actively participate in the Incubator series. Some faculty are arranging for students to get credit for taking the series as well, either as an independent study or honors credit.
The series will happen alternating Mondays from 4:30pm-6:00pm, in the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery’s Town Center Forum. See dates below. Space will be limited and registration will be required. Watch for registration to open sometime in early to mid January.
