Wisconsin Energy Institute groundbreaking on Nov. 24

Please join Governor Doyle for a groundbreaking ceremony for the Wisconsin Energy Institute building at 11:45 a.m. on Nov. 24. The WEI building, located at 1552 University Ave. (site of the old University Health Building) will provide approximately 110,000 sq. ft. to support administrative, research, and outreach activities. Primary occupants of the building will be the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) and Wisconsin Bioenergy Initiative (WBI) whose focus is converting plant biomass into ethanol and other clean, renewable motor fuels. Space will also be created to promote development of other renewable technologies.
