Crime continues to be an important concern for our campus and city. I believe everyone can play a role in enhancing safety, crime prevention and emergency preparedness at UW-Madison.
Every day, there are simple steps you can take to raise your awareness and decrease your vulnerability to crime. One important step is to be aware of the latest crime and safety resources. No matter what your role is on campus, please help take care of your fellow Badgers.
Please take a moment to visit http://students.wisc.edu to view UW-Madison’s 2010 Campus Safety Report. This guide contains information about a wide range of safety-related topics along with crime statistics.
I encourage you to visit our campus safety website http://www.safeu.wisc.edu.
Lastly, if you haven’t already, please sign up for WiscAlerts emergency text messages on your cell phone. Registration is simple and takes just a few moments. You can enroll by logging into the My UW Portal and looking for the WiscAlerts logo.
Printed copies of the annual Campus Safety Report can be downloaded as a PDF file directly from the web, or can be requested from the Division of Student Life by calling (608) 263-5700, or in person at 75 Bascom Hall.
I welcome your questions and feedback,
