Scoops of gratitude. Employee appreciation Ice Cream Social on Bascom Hill — May 12.
Throughout the year, the university relies on its employees to carry out a wide array of functions in support of our great institution. Whether you perform research-related duties, support various academic departments and programs, or ensure that our buildings and grounds are properly maintained, each of you provides an important service that helps the university thrive.
One of the small ways in which we cam recognize and thank you for your efforts is by holding the annual Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social on Bascom Hill each May. It coincides with Governor Jim Doyle’s declaration of May 5 as State Employee Recognition Day in Wisconsin.
This year our event will take place on Wednesday, May 12, from 1:00 p.m. until supplies run out. It will be held rain or shine.
I encourage you to take a break from your busy schedule and stop by for some delicious Babcock ice cream and camaraderie with your colleagues from all over the campus. Several of our university’s leaders will be personally funding this popular event, as well as rolling up their sleeves to scoop and serve the ice cream cones.
We hope you will be able to make it. If your workplace is not in the vicinity of Bascom Hall and you don’t feel like walking over, remember that both the 80 and 85 campus buses stop right at the top of Bascom Hill.
