Security is taken seriously on campus—personal safety as well as protecting your sensitive data. If your personal safety is ever compromised, you contact the police. Likewise, data breaches need to be reported. The UW-Madison Information Incident Reporting Policy requires the reporting of an incident where there is a reasonable belief that unauthorized persons may have accessed sensitive UW-Madison information, such as Social Security numbers, personal health information, and student data. If you or others in your unit notice suspicious activity or events, please contact University Police, DoIT Help Desk, your local IT staff and department management.
