Research by grad student Claire Sandrock recognized by Midwest dairy science group

Claire Mikolayunas Sandrock, a Ph.D. student in Animal Sciences, has been selected as an American Dairy Science Association Midwestern Branch Young Scholar for 2010 based on her research accomplishments. Claire’s research has focused on nutrition of grazing dairy ewes with special emphasis on protein utilization. Her field research is conducted at the Spooner Agricultural Research Station. Dave Thomas, Animal Sciences, and Lou Armentano, Dairy Science, serve as her Ph.D. advisors. As part of her recognition, Claire has been invited to present a paper on her research at the Midwest American Dairy Science Association/American Society of Animal Science meeting in Des Moines, IA in March 2010.
