Share your excitement in science with students of all ages. Present at a Whys and Wows event. Whys and Wows features a series of interactive, hands-on display stations staffed by UW-Madison science outreach faculty and staff. Targeted for students of all ages, these events are free and open to the public. In 2009–2010, there are four Whys and Wows events planned.
- Eau Claire – Children’s Museum of Eau Claire, October 8, 2009
- Appleton – Wilson Middle School, October 23, 2009
- Milwaukee – Discovery World, February 15, 2010
- Ashland – Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, Date TBD for Spring 2010
Whys and Wows programs also include a training program for high school science teachers in coordination with the Wisconsin Society for Science Teachers.
Faculty and staff interested in participating are responsible for their own supplies and materials. WAA will pay for transportation and lodging costs where necessary.
