Grass games, lawn lab, turf talk at Noer turf center this Saturday, May 30
Come to the O.J. Noer Turfgrass facility (on Highway M in Verona) this Saturday, May 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for Made in Wisconsin: O.J. Noer Facility. This family-friendly day of discovery, presented by the Wisconsin Alumni Association, will feature the following:
Turf Talks. Hear from UW researchers during brief presentations on water harvesting, rain gardens and the best grass types for your lawn — and what you can do about the emerald ash borer and other pests.
Expo Extravaganza. Stop by the Expo Tent to talk with representatives from the turfgrass industry. Get tips on irrigation and seeding, and take a look at the latest in turf equipment and products.
Lawn Lab. Got grass or plant problems? Bring in a sample for UW experts to evaluate in the facility’s Turfgrass Diagnostic Lab.
Grass Games. Try your hand at bocce ball, croquet or on a putting green at activity stations for kids and adults alike!
Wisconsin-style picnic fare (brats, burgers, chips and soda) will be available for purchase. This event will take place rain or shine. Make sure to wear sun protection and comfortable walking shoes.
