CALS Grow magazine earns national recognition

Grow magazine has earned recognition in two national competitions. Grow was judged best magazine by the Association for Communication Excellence, an international group of communicators from land-grant universities and research institutions. In that competition, Grow articles written by Bob Mitchell, Nicole Miller and Michael Penn won gold, silver and bronze awards, respectively. The magazine also won a gold medal for staff writing from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, which represents professionals in alumni relations, communications and marketing.The CASE writing award was based on the following five feature articles:

“Finding the Green,” by Bob Mitchell, Spring 2008
“Double-Edged Helix,” by Nicole Miller, Fall 2008
