Extension agents honor Brian Gould and Craig Grau
Brian Gould, associate professor of agricultural and applied economics, and Craig Grau, professor emeritus of plant pathology, each received the Second Mile Award from the Wisconsin Association of County Agricultural Agents. As it’s name implies, the award recognizes extra effort in support of statewide extension programs.
- Gould is an agricutural policy and marketing specialist. He has developed educational tools that are very useful to agents – especially his website called Understanding Dairy Markets, which makes a variety of statistics about dairy markets available in a much more user-friendly way than available from most other sources. Although his Cooperative Extension appointment is fairly recent, he has provide support for Extension programs for many years.
- Grau’s extension work focused on management of a variety of crop diseases. He has had a great rapport with county agents as well as the respect of the county agents as a source of valuable plant disease information. Questions regarding plant diseases were returned promptly during the growing season, and site visits were conducted as his schedule permitted.
