The 2009 Academic Staff Leadership Institute will be held Monday, March 23, from 8 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Pyle Center. A $25 fee, which covers registration, a breakfast buffet and lunch, will be waived for those who join MASA at this time and have not attended the institute in the past. MASA membership is free the first payroll year and $10 per year after that (the best deal on campus!)
Participants may attend two sessions of their choice. Sessions in this year’s institute will address:
- leadership qualities that transcend workplace characteristics
- the benefits of mentoring, both formally and informally
- how to create career paths where none appear to exist
- leadership opportunities
Session presenters include Sue Riseling. associate vice-chancellor and UW-Madison police chief, and Don Schutt of the Office of Human Relations.
Vice-Chancellor Darrell Bazzell will give the luncheon keynote address on: “Valuing Academic Staff in Difficult Economic Times.”
