If you’ve ever considered hiring a student intern to help with some of your communications projects, then please join us for the next CALS communicators meeting about hiring, managing and challenging interns, set for Tuesday, September 30th from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at Union South. Here’s the run down on the panelists who will lead the discussion:
- Christina Klawitter, assistant dean and director of career services at CALS. Christina knows all the ins and outs of hiring interns, and has employed quite a few herself over the past few years.
- Margaret Broeren, associate editor at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center. Margaret hired an intern four months ago, and thanks to the extra help, has been able to tackle some communications projects that had been gathering dust on the shelf.
- Heather Gjerde, intern at University Communications. Heather, a senior majoring in journalism and Spanish, writes press releases for the university’s main communications office.
- Zack Krejci, student hourly at the Department of Bacteriology. Zach is currently developing a website for the bacteriology department’s “Microbe Place” outreach center. He’s a junior double majoring in pharmacology and toxicology, and mathematics.
