Get training in proposal development and budget building

The CALS Research Division is offering a two-part training session that will focus on proposal development and budget building tools. The workshops will be offered September 16 and 18, 9–10:30 a.m. in the Parsons Penn Room, Taylor Hall.
Session 1 will cover the basics of proposal development, including finding and reading RFPs, interpreting regulations, filling out essential forms, determining effort and walking though the submission through campus and to the agency.

Session 2 will focus on budget building, including applying appropriate titles and fringe rates, determining the correct indirect cost rate and base, judging allowable direct costs, distinguishing the difference between subcontracts and fee-for-service, finding and documenting cost share commitments and finding tools to help with this process.
