Posting on the web and eCALS – a word of caution
When you send announcements sent to eCALS, you are welcome to send attachments that we can post for download. Such files — flyers, photos, memos, etc. — are a great way to amplify your message by adding interest or additional information. They also give readers an opportunity to help you share the information by posting these documents on bulletin boards or emailing it to other interested parties. But please remember that what gets posted on the web, in eCALS or anywhere else, is freely available to anyone with access to the internet, anywhere in the world, and will sooner or later be found by search engines. So if you don’t want your document to get that kind of exposure, don’t send it to eCALS or post it on any web page (unless you’re confident that page is password protected.)
