Continuity of Operations Planning is geared toward major disruption of activities

Over the next several months, the College will be working with the University Police to prepare a plan to sustain our operations for 14 days after the occurrence of a major disruption of activities. Initial workshops have been scheduled on July 2 and July 9 for those CALS faculty and staff involved in this exercise to begin preparing these plans.

At these sessions, the planners will begin preparing planning templates. The general orientation sessions held during the past couple weeks led to many questions, and pointed out opportunities to streamline this planning process — if we can identify areas that offer a generic plan. We hope these areas will become clear during the workshops so that we can coordinate this planning process more efficiently with support from CALS administration.

Obviously, there are areas where the plans will require elements specific to the respective units. This is going to be a long process, and we look forward to your support in this effort.
