Jerry Doll, emeritus professor in agronomy, was named a Honorary Member of the Associacion Latino Americano de Malezas (ALAM) at the XVIII Congress of their association. The Congress was held in Ouro Preto, Brazil in May 2008 and was held in conjunction with the XXVI Congresso Brasileiro da Ciencia das Plantas Daninhas. Doll also made an invited presentation on “Invasive Plants and Weed Biodiversity” at the Congress.
Jerry Doll started his international efforts as a Peace Corps volunteer at the Institute of Colombian Agriculture in Bogata and continued as a weed control specialist for five years at CIAT in Cali, Colombia. At CIAT, he was devoted to education and producing weed science training materials.
