Workshop on dealing with food biological threats — April 30-May 1

The second annual workshop on Treatment and Disposal of Food Products Contaminated by Biological Threat Agents will be held April 30-May 1 at the UW-Madison Engineering Centers Building. This year’s workshop provides a forum to discuss each major element of a response to a contaminated food product incident, from testing to final disposal. The discussion will feature crisis communications, regulatory and legal response, and technical considerations. For more information, download a copy of the workshop flyer.

Specific topics are:

  • Major obstacles in disposal and decontamination of food products
  • Issues with inter-jurisdictional coordination of regulating agencies
  • Risk communication and public relations
  • Disposal and decontamination contacts in emergency events.
