The following announcement was forwarded from Ivy Brand, a Community Supported Agriculture farm, providing locally grown produce to communities in and around the Annapolis, Maryland area:

The work week will be approximately 40 hours/week, and will include some weekend work. Compensation includes $150/week stipend, free housing on the farm, and board (produce from the farm, other basics and communal lunches).
Non-Residential Intern – Same as residential intern, but earning minimum wage instead of Stipend.
More info for Intern Prospects- Experience farming or doing similar work is desirable, but not required. Being self motivated and responsible are the most important qualifications. The desire and ability to work hard outdoors, learn new skills, take direction and work with a variety of people (volunteers, children, family members) are also important. Work and training involves all aspects of organic vegetable, small fruit, and herb production, including seeding, cultivating, controlling insects/diseases, weeding, harvesting, irrigating, CSA and market preparation, selling at farmers’ markets, mulching, staking, greenhouse work, season extension houses, cover cropping, and maintaining soil quality. A wide variety of learning opportunities are available for an interested intern including visiting other local sustainable farms.
Summer and Year-long internships are available. Please see our website for more details about the farm. www.ivybrand.com
