As the effort certification window for the period of July-December 2007 nears its close on April 30th, the University has posted a list of ramifications for faculty and staff who fail to complete ECRT training and effort certification requirements. Partially in response to a large number of uncertified individuals from the first certification period of 2007, which closed on January 30th, consequences for not certifying revolve around refusal by the University to process proposals, execute award agreements, and establish accounts for new or continuing projects. The complete consequences statement can be found at www.rsp.wisc.edu/effort/effortConsequences.html. To ensure that your research is not hindered by uncertified effort or failure to complete training, complete all requirements in a timely manner. Several resources are available to assist you in finishing certifications for you and your research staff. The Research and Sponsored Programs Effort Reporting website at www.rsp.wisc.edu/effort/ provides links to online and in-person training opportunities and detailed information about policies and guidelines.
To help understanding and navigating the effort system and certification, personal assistance is available from your departmental effort coordinator or Laurel Norris at the CALS Research Division, firstname.lastname@example.org, 608-890-1677.This entry was posted in Research by jsindelar.
