Landscape architecture student shares national design award from U.S. Green Building Council

Eric Seidl, a senior majoring in landscape architecture, was part of a team which won a national design award sponsored by the US Green Building Council. Eric is a returning adult student who is finishing up his BSLA degree while working full-time for a national design firm, JJR. His team placed second in the competition for a plan to redesign a city block in Milwaukee.

The judges made this comment on the award:
“This project spoke to the importance of urban renewal with the transformation of an underused complex of buildings to enhance the Milwaukee community. The judges enjoyed the development of an internal courtyard, intermingling stormwater management and people-spaces. Density was maintained on the site, while increasing permeable surfaces.”
