CALS fares well in 2007 Top Research Universities Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index

The UW-Madison and CALS made an excellent showing in the 2007 Top Research Universities Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index issued by the Chronicle of Higher Education. The 2007 index compiles overall institutional rankings on 375 universities that offer the Ph.D. degree. Below is a list of rankings and the productivity index for some of the disciplines covered by the college. Faculty productivity was judged on as many as five factors, depending on the most important variables in the given discipline: books published; journal publications; citations of journal articles; federal-grant dollars awarded; and honors and awards.
