Alternative assessment for students with disabilities

In accordance with Faculty Documents 1071 and 1143, alternative assessment should allow equivalent opportunity for qualified students with disabilities to demonstrate their acquired knowledge and competence, without creating undue hardship for faculty. Ensuring that students with disabilities receive appropriate testing accommodations is a shared responsibility between faculty, students and the McBurney Center.

Please take the time to download this letter and to share and discuss it with your Teaching Assistants, as necessary. Students will soon come to you with requests for accommodations, if they have not done so already. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the McBurney Center at 263-2741, or the ADA Coordinator at 263-7400.
