Starting July 1, 2007, all human subjects protocol submissions to the Education Research IRB (Institutional Review Board) and to the Social and Behavioral Sciences IRB must be made electronically via a system called the Institutional Review Board IRB Webkit.
Paper forms for protocols will no longer be accepted. The paper burden will be reduced, efficiency and communication will be enhanced, and PIs will be able to see the status of all of their protocols online.
For any PIs, staff, or students who have not previously used the electronic forms, or for anyone who would like a refresher, Lil Larson from the Social and Behavioral Sciences IRB office is holding short workshops to demonstrate how the forms work. Sessions are open to all Education and Social/Behavioral researchers or to anyone else interested in attending. No registration is necessary.
The next session will take place on Thursday, June 28th at 9:30 AM in room 304 of South Hall. Another workshop will be held the week of July 16th (date TBA), and one workshop will be scheduled every month following.
Detailed protocol submission instructions are now available online along with FAQs on the new Education Research IRB website: http://www.grad.wisc.edu/research/compliance/humansubjects/edirb/ed.forms.html.
Please contact Lilian Larson (SBS IRB) at 5-4312 or Kim Moreland (ER IRB) at 2-9710 with any questions, and for future workshop dates. This entry was posted in Research by jsindelar. Bookmark the permalink.
