Alert: NIH extending correction window for June 5 R01 submission deadline

NIH and Grants.gov are closely monitoring processing times for applications submitted for the June 5 R01 submission deadline. Most applications have been processed well within Grants.gov’s 48 hour target. However, there is a subset of applications that will not complete processing within the 48 hour target. NIH will extend the five business day error correction window for the June 5 R01 receipt date to accommodate applicants affected by the processing delays.

Applicants that submitted applications on-time (i.e. all registrations completed prior to submission and received Grants.gov timestamp by 5:00 p.m. local time on June 5) will have until June 14 (two additional days) to correct any system-identified errors and/or warnings to complete the submission process.

NIH uses the timestamp provided by Grants.gov at time of submission to document on-time application submission. Please resist the temptation to resubmit your application or submit corrections until you have received Grants.gov confirmation that your current submission is complete – failure to do so causes additional load and possible conflicts.
