Governor’s Business Plan Contest entries due Jan. 31

If you’re milling over the idea of starting a company, finish grinding out your business plan and enter the 2007 Governor’s Business Plan Contest (BPC). The grand prize winner gets $50,000.

Phase 1 entries, consisting of 250-word Idea Abstracts, will be accepted online now through 5 p.m. Jan. 31, 2007. The BPC is managed by the Wisconsin Technology Council and is the nation’s first statewide, tech-based business plan competition.

Since its inception in 2004, 700 entrepreneurs from more than 100 Wisconsin communities have taken part and have earned more than $500,000 in seed capital and services. Contest information and business plan assistance are available from the BPC web site.
