Advisors: DARS is the best measure of a student’s degree credits

A tip for advisors: How many degree credits does your advisee have? They need 124 to graduate (128 if it’s Biological Systems Engineering)! There are two documents that tell you this: Student Record (transcript) and DARS. In most cases, they will say the same thing. However, if a student repeats a course (e.g. Math 221 twice) or takes a course with overlapping credit (e.g. Botany 100 then Botany 130), the transcript will not show adjustments in the student’s record. CALS has to make those changes and the credit adjustment shows only in the DARS report. So your best bet for an accurate read on the number of degree credits is DARS.
