Timely processing of checks
State of Wisconsin Statutes mandate that revenue must be deposited at least once a week. This statute applies to unrestricted gift checks provided by sponsors/donors to departments and centers throughout CALS. Please provide gift checks to your department business office immediately upon receipt so they can be routed to CALS Research Division with an extramural transmittal form — the form must be completed and signed by the Principal Investigator and Department Chair. Please put into place procedures which will meet this statutory requirement.

Call for interests in sustainable biobased economies
Please contact Dick Straub at (260-0689) if you have an interested or experience/expertise in any aspect of the human and social dimensions of the bioeconomy–from renewable energy, energy efficiency, bioenergy, biofuels, and/or bioindustrial products, and particularly the implications of the bioeconomy for rural people and places. This inquiry is in response to a request from USDA/CSREES to compile a database of experts who might participate in a future workshop to identify key social science and cross-cutting questions and issues, gaps in knowledge, and available resources to help shape the research, education, and extension efforts in these areas.
