Applications for 2026 ARS summer internship program due Feb. 27

The UW Agricultural Research Stations (ARS) are launching a new donor-sponsored internship program for the summer of 2026. This program will provide funding for student hours worked, internship credits and a small research project stipend. The goal of this program is to partner researchers, students and station management to provide a unique experiential learning experience for CALS undergraduates.

The proposed opportunity must involve the student in both an applied research project and the day-to-day operational needs of the selected ARS unit, providing them with a balanced experiential learning opportunity as they consider their education and career goals. Awarded interns will be mentored by both a faculty member and an ARS unit manager, allowing them to experience through diverse viewpoints the responsibilities associated with overseeing a research study.

The brief application must be collaborative with both the ARS manager and a faculty member committed to mentoring a student. Application deadline is Friday, February 27. Late applications will not be accepted. Applications should be submitted electronically with all required signatures to arsinternships@cals.wisc.edu. Announcements will be made in early March.

Please direct all questions to Mike Peters, director of the Agricultural Research Stations, at peters2@wisc.edu or (608) 212-9458.
