Getting a new phone this winter break? Remember to transfer your MFA-Duo authentication
‘Tis the season of new technology! For those who receive new technology as a gift or decide to upgrade their phone, it’s an important time to remember MFA-Duo, UW–Madison’s multi-factor authentication system.
To ensure that you don’t have issues transferring your MFA-Duo to a new device, make sure to create a set of backup codes.
Already have a new phone, but still have access to your old phone? Make sure to add your new phone to MFA-Duo before getting rid of the old one.
If you’ve already disposed of your old phone, follow the instructions to reactivate MFA-Duo on a mobile device. As part of the process, you may have to apply for a temporary password.
