Support MOSAIC by donating your old sneakers

MOSAIC (Mentorship Opportunities in Science & Agriculture for Individuals of Color) is hosting a fundraising event that involves collecting gently used sneakers and giving them a “second life” via Sneakers4Good. Sneakers4Good is a social enterprise that operates a sneaker reuse and recycle program that keeps shoes out of landfills, while supporting local causes and families around the world.

From December 1, 2025 to February 1, 2026, MOSAIC will have two donation boxes located in the lobby of Steenbock Library, near the Little Free Library (to the left when you walk in the front entrance). If you don’t see the boxes, ask a librarian. Please limit donations to running shoes and sneakers that are still in good, wearable condition — please no moldy pairs or shoes with holes.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will support MOSAIC’s upcoming community events and mentorship programs. For more information about MOSAIC, visit https://mosaicuw.org/.
