Statistical Consulting Group hosting free workshop in experimental design on Dec. 4
The Statistical Consulting Group in the Department of Statistics is hosting a free, one-hour workshop titled “Four Common Experimental Designs and How to Use Them” on December 4. Researchers from all disciplines are invited, and affiliation with UW–Madison is not required.
High-quality experimental designs are crucial in science. In this workshop, four common ones will be discussed – completely randomized designs (CRD), complete randomized block designs (RCBD), RCBDs with subsampling, and split-plot designs. Specific examples that tie to real-world analyses across disciplines will be emphasized.
The workshop will be led by Steven Moen, a Ph.D. student in statistics. It will take place on Thursday, December 4, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in Morgridge Hall, Room B2550 (in the basement).
RSVP here by Friday, November 28, at 5:00 p.m. No prior statistical or coding experience is required to attend. Laptops are not required.
