Nominations open for the inaugural Kelling Faculty Fellow Award

Nominations are now being accepted for the inaugural Keith and Andrea Kelling Faculty Fellow Award that recognizes a faculty member working in the areas of nutrient management and/or soil and water management. Candidates should demonstrate good citizenship within their department and the college, actively contributing to a positive and collaborative environment.

The Kelling Faculty Fellow was established by emeritus professor Keith Kelling and his late wife Andrea Kelling. Andrea received her B.A., and Keith received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In 1977, Keith became a Professor and Extension Soil Scientist at his beloved alma mater.

The award provides the recipient with a $23,000 annual stipend to support the fellow’s research program for a total of five years (July 1, 2025-June 30, 2030). The stipend cannot be used for salary (including summer salary).

Nominations are due Monday, November 3, 2025, and will have a retroactive start date of July 1, 2025.

  3. The nominee’s current CV, or past five Faculty Activity Reports

Please note that the recipient must have completed all annual employee requirements to be eligible for this award.
