Department of Defense research funding workshop – Sep. 30
A workshop on Department of Defense (DOD) research funding will be held on Tuesday, September 30. Join Lewis-Burke Associates LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based federal relations firm, for a workshop designed for UW–Madison faculty on navigating the DOD research landscape.
When: Tuesday, September 30, 1:30-3:30pm
Where: Wisconsin Institute for Discovery Building, 330 N. Orchard St.
Orchard View Room (2nd Floor) – accessed via elevator behind Aldo’s Café
Registration is required.
The workshop will include:
- An overview of key DOD funding opportunities (ex. Air Force/Army/Navy basic research, DARPA programs, defense health)
- Guidance on building relationships with DOD program managers
- Practical steps to successfully pursue DOD funding mechanisms, such as broad agency announcements and DARPA’s ERIS marketplace
- Time for faculty to meet with LBA experts one-on-one to discuss tailoring research ideas to national security priorities
The workshop will also feature a panel of UW–Madison faculty who will share insights and lessons learned from their experiences securing DOD research grants.
