UHS launches Thrive Online, new mental health resource for students
UHS Mental Health Services is excited to introduce Thrive Online a new online resource designed to support student mental health and wellbeing.
An extension of UHS’ Thrive Workshops, Thrive Online is an evidence-based resource hub designed to help students manage common college mental health challenges. It offers practical tools, strategies, and worksheets across three current modules: test anxiety, procrastination, and stress management, with more topics planned in the future.
When should I refer a student to Thrive Online?
- If a student discloses that exams make them anxious, consider referring them to the Test Anxiety module to practice positive self-talk, create a study plan, and learn relaxation methods to use before, during, and after the exam.
- If you notice widespread stress in your classes before midterms or finals, consider referring them to the Stress Management module to learn strategies to manage stress including self-care, time management, and mindfulness and meditation practices.
- If a student discloses, they are feeling overwhelmed, consider referring them to the Procrastination module offering immediate, guided, support in prioritization, time blocking, and creating SMART goals.
- If a student shows early signs of struggling, consider sharing Thrive Online as a first step to empower students to self-manage their mental health before their concerns escalate.
