Knute Nadelhoffer is a distinguished ecologist and environmental scientist renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to the field of ecosystem ecology. With a career spanning over four decades, Nadelhoffer has played a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of biogeochemical processes that determine ecosystem dynamics and functioning at local, regional and global levels with a particular focus on temperate forests and arctic tundra. His work investigates how relationships among soil biota, plants and climate interact to determine ecosystem structure and stability.
Nadelhoffer has availability for individual and group meetings, as well as a grad student/postdoc lunch and two dinners. If you’re interested in meeting with him, or attending a lunch or dinner, you can sign up for a time.
Talks by early-career UW-Madison faculty and researchers on a variety of ecological and ecologically-adjacent topics will precede Nadelhoffer’s presentation on both days.
