Reminder: UW Hemp Research Field Day to be held Aug. 17
The Ellison Lab in the Department of Horticulture invites you to join them for a field day about the latest hemp research being conducted here at UW–Madison.
The event will be held Thursday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station (N695 Hopkins Road, Arlington, WI 53911). Coffee and donuts, provided by Batch, will be available starting at 8:45 a.m.
Presentations will be given in a “speed run” format, with 10 minute presentations followed by 5 minutes for Q&A. Attendees will be shuttled to trials/presenters across the research station. Presentations will be given by UW faculty, staff, as well as members of Extension focusing on their respective research priorities including:
- Using Data to Select Compliant Cultivars
- Industrial (Grain/Fiber) Hemp Variety Trials
- High Cannabinoid Hemp Variety Trials
- Efforts to preserve and characterize hemp germplasm
- IPM Diagnostic Tool Development
- Understanding Anthocyanin Accumulation in Cannabis
- Companion cropping in hemp
- Evaluation of hemp fiber production and quality
- IR-4 Program and Hemp Research
- Feasibility of Hemp as Forage
