Abstract: It is well-known that diversity is important in biological systems. Of all the kinds of diversity, variation among species is probably the most well studied. Much less is known about the impacts of phenotypic and genetic diversity. My research uses an economically and ecologically important tree species to investigate the effects of such intraspecific diversity on associated communities of insect herbivores.
