Project led by Claudia Calderon selected for Insight to Impact (i2i) Program
The Insight to Impact (i2i) program was created to encourage innovation, exploration and iteration in teaching and learning with a focus on taking action. This year’s program explores a vital question: how can we intentionally use teaching and learning data to better understand student engagement and performance in an online/hybrid or in-person course?
A project led by Claudia Calderon, teaching faculty in the Department of Plant and Agroecosystem Sciences, is among four projects selected to explore this question. She aims to study student engagement and learning outcomes in large enrollment classes and compare individual and small group assignments and exams.
Each team in the program will work with a data architect to examine course‑engagement patterns, a data steward to ensure responsible data governance, and a liaison to guide the project toward its goals. Together, they will apply insights to enhance learning experiences.
