Extension Natural Resources Institute is hosting an Extension Earth Fest Showcase event on April 20 at the Pyle Center. The event will highlight Extension’s natural resources research, outreach and education, and will celebrate how shared efforts with local communities across the state are helping nature and people thrive.

Several CALS researchers and projects will be highlighted, including:

  • The Lake Superior Reserve will discuss research on PFAS in manoomin in collaboration with Jessica Hua’s Lab.
  • The State Climate Office will highlight Wisconet, their climate roadshows and webinars.
  • Upham Woods will present information on the Microclimate Monitoring Field Trips hosted in collaboration with Rural Weather Extremes, a Rural Partnerships Institute project.
  • The water program will highlight emerging contaminants work including a forthcoming PFAS public health communications guide co-led by Bret Shaw.
